A historic event took place in Williamsburg, as a gala dinner was held for the first time in the neighborhood in support of a Chabad House. The dinner was part of the campaign to purchase a new building for Chabad of Cozumel, led by the Rebbe’s Shliach and chief rabbi od Mexico, Rabbi Dudi Caplin.
After 18 years of extensive activity serving Jews from all backgrounds, Chabad of Cozumel is now on its way to having a building of its own for the first time.
The dinner was hosted at the home of philanthropist R’ Shlomi Feder, a Satmar Chassid. The evening featured a performance by singer Avraham Mordechai Schwartz, accompanied by Yehuda Piamenta and Eli Sinai.
During the evening, participants shared their personal experiences in Cozumel and spoke about the unique connection they felt there, describing how every Jew, regardless of background or community—feels at home at Chabad of Cozumel.
The evening became an emotional display of Achdus, centered around one goal: after 18 years of activity, giving Chabad of Cozumel a home of its own.
