In the Southern District of the Home Front Command, a dedicated desk has been established to serve the chareidi community, aimed at making life-saving guidelines accessible and strengthening communication with local kehillos.
The initiative was launched with the opening of Operation “Sha’agat HaAri,” and as a lesson learned from the previous operation “Am KeLavi.” Southern District Commander Col. Asher Benisti directed the formation of the desk, which includes chareidi reserve officers and soldiers who will focus on public information, community liaison, and population response within the Chareidi sector.
Many cities in the southern district include significant chareidi populations who rely on diverse forms of internal communication, creating a need to tailor and effectively convey critical safety instructions.
Appointed to head the desk is Ka”B (Senior Academic Officer, rank equivalent to Captain) Mendy Rizel, a Chabad chossid from the south and a communications professional in civilian life, who has served in reserve duty within the Home Front Command for the past five years.
Col. Benishti stated, “Our goal is to reach every citizen in a manner suited to them, in the name of the sacred mission of saving lives. To that end, we have successfully established a desk for the chareidi community in the south under our responsibility, and I welcome this development.”
