Slovakia Prime Minister Visits the Kosel During Israel Trip
The prime minister of Slovakia, Mr. Eduard Heger visited the Kosel during a state visit to Israel. And was greeted by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz • Full Story, Photos
The prime minister of Slovakia was greeted by the rabbi of the Western Wall, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, and by the director of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, Mr. Mordechai (Suli) Eliav. They joined the prime minister in personal prayers and explained the importance of the site and the yearnings for Jerusalem throughout the generations.
Prime Minister Heger expressed knowledge and interest in the upcoming Purim holiday and spoke about the power of prayer to change a decree.
The Rabbi thanked Prime Minister Heger for his stance in support of the State of Israel and the Jewish nation.
Prime Minister Heger placed a note between the stones of the Wall and then took a tour of the Western Wall Tunnels. He wrote in the Western Wall guestbook: “It is an honor for me to stand here for our country – Slovakia. We thank Israel for the friendship. We have our history with you and we want to build our future on our heritage with you. God bless you.”
