One of the passengers on the flight, a Chabad chossid, contacted the Rebbe’s shliach in Rome, Rabbi Sholom Ber Chazan, and informed him about the situation.
Shortly afterward, shlucha Mrs. Chani Chazan traveled from her home in Rome to the hospital in Ostia in order to assist the new mother, bringing her kosher mehadrin food and helping accompany her during her stay.
