The company said the decision was made despite significant operational challenges, as part of its commitment to Israel’s national effort and to strengthening Eilat’s vital transport link with the rest of the country.

Eilat Mayor Eli Lankri welcomed the move, calling it “an essential step for the city’s residents and for maintaining Eilat’s role as Israel’s gateway to the Red Sea.”

    Affordable Ticket Options

Tickets will start at just NIS 139 one-way for El Al’s basic “Lite” fare, which includes a backpack and one small carry-on bag. Residents of Eilat and the Eilot region will benefit from subsidized prices of NIS 99 for a one-way ticket.

According to Lankri, the city has been working with government ministries to secure a long-term program of regular and affordable flights. “El Al’s return is an important milestone,” he said. “This cooperation ensures reliable access for residents while boosting tourism and business. I thank the Transport Ministry and El Al’s management for their partnership and commitment to Eilat.”

The renewed service is expected to make travel to Israel’s southernmost city easier for both locals and visitors, giving a major boost to tourism and connectivity in the region.
