Chabad journalist R’ Mendy Rizel reported this evening that a Lubavitcher Bochur returning from Kvutza was arrested yesterday at Ben-Gurion Airport. According to sources familiar with the matter, he is believed to be the first student from the 5785 K’vutza group to be detained upon arrival.
In the coming two weeks, dozens more students are expected to return from their year of K’vutza in New York, as they prepare to begin their year of Shlichus in Tomchei Tmimim Yeshivos across Eretz Yisroel — many of whom may face arrest following the Israeli army’s cancellation of its long-standing arrangement with Chabad.
