A disturbing antisemitic incident took place in Berlin over Shabbos, when Rabbi Aviezer Kantor, a member of the local Chabad community and Mashgiach Kashrus at the local Chabad House, was attacked while walking home from Shul with his children.
The incident could have ended far more seriously were it not for the quick actions of an Israeli bystander who witnessed the assault. The Israeli rushed to intervene, subdued the attacker, and held him until local police arrived at the scene.
Berlin police officially confirmed the arrest and stated that the suspect has been remanded into extended custody pending the completion of the investigation.
According to police, the suspect also assaulted the children and spat at them during the attack.
