During a Chabad Lag BaOmer parade in Be’er Sheva, a report was received of a suspected attempt to ram participants. Police stated: “Officers from the Be’er Sheva station have opened an investigation following a traffic incident in which several pedestrians were injured”.
According to police, officers and specialized units arrived at the scene and arrested the driver, a resident of Ar’ara in the Negev, who attempted to flee but was apprehended on site.
Initial findings indicate the suspect was driving under the influence of alcohol, struck a vehicle, and as a result, three pedestrians in the area sustained light injuries.
MDA reported that at 7:57 PM, a call was received regarding several pedestrians struck by a vehicle on Avigdor HaMeiri Street in Be’er Sheva. Medics and paramedics provided treatment and evacuated three individuals to Soroka Medical Center in light condition: a 4-year-old girl with a head injury, a 19-year-old with limb injuries, and a woman approximately 40 years old with limb injuries. Additional teams treated several others at the scene with minor injuries. Further updates will be provided.
A great miracle: Despite the frightening nature of the incident and the large number of participants present, no one was seriously injured. Participants and organizers expressed gratitude to Hashem that the situation did not result in more severe harm.
