70 Talmidim From 11 Countries Start New Zman at Hungarian Yeshivah

With sons of Shluchim and Anash arriving from 11 countries, Tomchei Temimim Austria-Hungary opened the new school year at its expansive campus, with a sharp increase in enrollment from across Europe, the United Kingdom, and Eretz Yisroel • Read More, Photos

It was an inspiring sight last Sunday as dozens of Bochurim arrived at the spacious campus, accompanied by their parents, ready to begin a new year of Torah, Tefillah and Gemilus Chassadim.

For the first time, the yeshivah also opened a Mechina program for Bar Mitzvah-age students, welcoming boys from Finland, Germany, Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, Israel, Ukraine, Hungary, Monaco, Italy and Austria.

Following dinner, the students and their fathers gathered in the zal for an opening address from Rosh Yeshivah Rabbi Chaim Feldstiel, followed by a father-and-son study session of the maamar “Arba’ah Roshei Shonim Heim,” delivered by the Rebbe at a farbrengen on Tu B’Shvat 5731.

Rabbi Shlomo Kovesh, under whose auspices the yeshivah operates, said significant effort and resources had been invested in bringing experienced Maggidei Shiur and Mashpiim from New York and elsewhere.

The yeshivah’s staff includes Rabbi Shmuel Alperowitz, Rabbi Avi Biderman, Rabbi Meir Wilhelm, Rabbi Mendel Vishitzki, Rabbi Yitzchok Niazov, Rabbi Yaakov Neimark, Rabbi Mani Neimark and Rabbi Yehoshua Fox, alongside a team of dedicated Madrichim.

Yeshivah administrator Rabbi Shmuel Glitzenstein said the surge in demand led the yeshivah to open the Mechina program on short notice. With enrollment now nearing 70 students, registration has already been closed after reaching the campus’ current capacity.

“Over the coming months, we will begin expanding the campus so that next year we will be able to accommodate up to twice as many Bochurim,” Rabbi Glitzenstein said.
