With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Shmarya Katzen, OB”M, an active member of the Crown Heights community, and a longtime teacher in Lubavitcher Yeshiva. He passed away on Sunday, 22 Elul. He was 76-years-old.
He is survived by his wife Rivka; and children, Chani Laufer – Chevy Chase, MD; Mica Soffer – Crown Heights; Moshe Katzen – Crown Heights; Esther Malka Schlanger – Bakersfield, CA; Dini Simons – Crown Heights; Lieba Kahan – Crown Heights; Shaina Fine – Montreal, Canada; as well as many grandchildren.
The Levaya will take place tomorrow, Monday, leaving Shomrei Hadas in Boro Park at around 11:00 am and passing by 770 at around 12:00.
