Afula: New Tefillin Stand Dedicated at Local Police Station
A new Tefillin stand was inaugurated last week at the Afula Police Station, providing officers with an opportunity to put on Tefillin during their shifts. A new Tefillin stand was inaugurated last week at the Afula Police Station, providing officers with an opportunity to put on Tefillin during their shifts. The launch took place during a Rosh Hashanah toast organized by Chabad of Afula, under the leadership of the Rebbe’s Shliach, Rabbi Shlomo HaLevi Segal.
The event was attended by Afula Chief Rabbi Rabbi Shmuel David, Religious Council chairman Rabbi Eliram Dadon, municipal director-general Shalom Shlomo, Police Station Commander Shagiv Levi, as well as police officers, volunteers and members of the security, emergency and rescue forces.
The Tefillin stand and pair of Tefillin were donated by friends of the Chabad community—the Lasker, Wilder, Mula, Balulu and Pagori families—in their merit and for the Aliyah of the souls of their loved ones.
Chabad of Afula also established a stand for distributing Shabbos candles to the station’s female officers, in memory of R’ Amnon Nissim Elkabetz A”H, father of Afula Mayor Avi Elkabetz.
