Large numbers of NYPD officers were deployed throughout Crown Heights today for the annual Labor Day march taking place in Brooklyn and passing through the neighborhood.
Numerous street barricades have been set up on Eastern Parkway, with a heightened police presence around the World Chabad Headquarters, Beis Moshiach – 770.
The large Tishrei tent outside 770 is being used as a police command post for the first time as part of the security preparations, while Oholei Torah’s ballroom is also serving as a designated meeting point for police personnel.
Officers and police vehicles can be seen throughout the surrounding streets. With numerous street closures and limited access around 770, those traveling to Crown Heights are advised to expect delays and consider alternate routes.
