More than 100,000 Yidden visited the Kosel throughout Tisha B’Av, joining in mourning the destruction of Yerushalayim and the Beis Hamikdash at one of the holiest accessible sites in the Jewish world.
As the fast drew to a close on Thursday evening, thousands from Eretz Yisroel and around the world gathered once again in the Kosel Plaza, where they joined together in uplifting circles of song, singing melodies of comfort and yearning for the Geulah. The moving gathering concluded with heartfelt tefillos for achdus among the Jewish people on this day of reflection over the causes of the Churban.
Following the conclusion of the fast, thousands of dignified personal refreshment packages containing drinks and light refreshments were distributed to the tens of thousands of mispallelim gathered at the Kosel. Distribution points were set up throughout the plaza to ensure the large crowds could leave safely and efficiently.
