A new milestone for Shluchim and Anash across Europe: Tomchei Temimim Austro-Hungary has announced that it will launch a new Mechina program this Rosh Chodesh Elul for boys ages 12 and 13, primarily serving the sons of Shluchim and Anash families.
Located near Mosonmagyaróvár in northern Hungary, the yeshiva said the program was established in response to growing demand from Shluchim seeking a structured, supportive environment to prepare their sons for life in Tomchei Temimim while providing the warmth and guidance appropriate for younger students.
Yeshiva director Rabbi Shmuel Glitzenstein explained that the initiative follows the success of the yeshiva’s existing program, which began in Vienna four years ago before relocating to Hungary. The new Mechina has been carefully developed in consultation with Mechanchim, Mashpi’im, and psychologists to combine strong learning, Chassidishkeit, Yiras Shamayim, and a nurturing atmosphere tailored to boys making the transition into yeshiva.
Rabbi Shlomo Köves, chairman of Chabad institutions in Hungary, said the expansion reflects the yeshiva’s commitment to providing European Shluchim with an exceptional educational option for their children, while Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Feldstiel emphasized the yeshiva’s mission to help every student grow into a devoted Chossid, Yerei Shamayim, and accomplished Torah scholar under the guidance of experienced mechanchim and Mashpi’im.
