As bochurim returned to Crown Heights for their break, Yeshiva Bein Hazmanim once again opened its doors to provide a dedicated, high-level space for Torah learning. Hosted in the Oholei Torah Raitport Beis Medrash, the program attracted over 100 bochurim who utilized their time off to maintain a rigorous daily learning schedule.
The packed two-day schedule featured two distinct learning sessions: an afternoon seder from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM, and an evening seder from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM. To further encourage the bochurim, participants received a stipend of $10 per seder.
A major highlight of this year’s program was an exclusive, hour-long shiur delivered by Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun, member of the Crown Heights Beis Din. Rabbi Braun addressed the complex topic of “Zmanim in Halachah,” exploring real-world applications ranging from city variations to different shkiah calculations, and the halachos of zmanim for davening.
Following the shiur, the floor was opened for a lively Q&A. This gave the tmimim a unique and invaluable opportunity to hear directly from the Rov and ask their own personal questions—an interaction they do not always have access to during the regular yeshiva year.
This shiur follows the previous program’s shiur by Rabbi Shalom DovBer Shochet, Dayan and Moreh Tzedek at Agudas HaRabbanim of America, which focused on the Halachos of complex cases that bochurim encounter day-to-day on mivtzoim
Organizer Mendel Niyazov shared that this initiative reflects the program’s broader goal: consistently bringing down different Rabbonim and Mashpi’im to give shiurim, ensuring the tmimim have the opportunity to meet and learn from different Lubavitch Rabbonim.
The inspiration continued with a beautiful and uplifting farbrengen led by Rabbi Dubov, Mashpia in Oholei Torah Mesivta. Held in the 770 basement, the farbrengen provided the perfect setting for bochurim to sit together and farbreng during their yeshiva vacation and have the feeling of being in yeshiva, while also meeting bochurim from other yeshivas.
Recognizing the program’s incredible impact, multiple Roshei Yeshiva have expressed their tremendous appreciation and encouragement, noting its vital role in the life of a bochur.
Organizer Mendel Lagziel recounted how countless participating bochurim also shared their deep appreciation for the program and the unique opportunities it provided.
The program would like to express its appreciation to Oholei Torah for hosting the program in its magnificent Raitport Beis Medrash, taking the learning experience to another level.
This meaningful initiative is made possible in partnership with the Sadya Shmuel Foundation. The program is dedicated לז״נ החייל בצ״ה סעדיה שמואל ע״ה בן יבלחט״א שלמה שניאור זלמן שי’.
