The newly constructed Romainville Mikvah, located in the northeastern suburbs of Paris, France, has received official halachic approval following a detailed inspection by a delegation of rabbanim and avreichim representing the French Consistoire.
The delegation was led by Rabbi Binyamine Chelly, a recognized expert in the complex halachos of mikvah construction and supervision, who visited the facility together with a group of rabbanim and advanced Torah scholars to examine the mikvah’s design and implementation.
According to a statement released following the visit, Rabbi Chelly expressed particular admiration for the meticulous attention given to the Mikvah’s Halachic standards, as well as the quality of the materials and craftsmanship incorporated throughout the project.
After a thorough review of the facility, Rabbi Chelly formally certified the kashrus of the Romainville Mikvah, declaring it suitable for use by all Jewish communities and traditions, including both Sephardic and Ashkenazic users.
The approval marks a significant milestone for the growing Jewish community of Romainville, a suburb in the Seine-Saint-Denis region just outside Paris. Community leaders described the certification as recognition of the extensive effort, planning, and investment devoted to ensuring that the mikvah meets the highest halachic standards.
The Mikvah project, known as Maayan Chai, was developed with the goal of providing local families with a modern facility built according to the strictest requirements of Halacha while accommodating a broad range of Jewish customs and traditions.
Community members expressed gratitude to the many donors, volunteers, rabbanim, and supporters whose efforts helped bring the project to fruition, describing the official approval as an important achievement for Jewish life in the Paris region.
