After many months of hard work and surveillance, Chaverim was finally able to catch a suspected serial shoplifter in a dramatic chase that came to a close as the suspect was stepping onto a train in the Rosemont Metro station.

For several months, Jewish stores on Parc Avenue reported the shoplifting of expensive items to Chaverim. Video surveillance would show a man entering with an empty bag, heading into an area of the store where there are no cameras and exiting with a full bag. Chaverim helped the Jewish shopkeepers file several police reports, collected video footage and built a case on the suspect.

On Wednesday morning, Chaverim received a call that a man fitting the suspect’s description had just shoplifted a store on Parc Avenue. The shopkeeper had only realized that items had been stolen after the suspect left. Chaverim volunteer units were dispatched and arrived on Parc Avenue just as Chaverim received a report of another shoplifting that had just taken place on the same road.

The volunteers quickly rushed to the second store and spotted the suspect. Giving chase, the suspect raced in the other direction and hopped onto a city bus. Chaverim volunteers quickly notified the police and chased the bus.

The suspect exited the bus wearing different clothing and without the bag of shoplifted items. Upon noticing that he was still being followed, he hailed down a taxi.

Luckily, two Chaverim members happened to be sitting in a car with two police officers (on the way back from a meeting) when the call came through and together they rushed to the scene. They followed the taxi to the Rosemont Metro station where the suspect jumped out of the vehicle without paying for his ride and ran into the Metro station.

The police officers and Chaverim volunteers followed, chasing the suspect down the stairs and catching him as he was getting onto the train. Several items that he had shoplifted were still in his possession.

It turned out that the suspect had a history with the police, who had issued several warrants for his arrest. The police were grateful to Chaverim for assisting in following and catching the suspect.

The items that the suspect had left on the bus were retrieved and returned to their original owners.

      Silly and dangerous government.
In Crown Heights, Brooklyn NY, about 10 months (or so) ago, some ‘bochurim’ where walking on Montgomery St. on their way to ‘770.’ One, or more, criminals was shooting at the police and the police fired back, One ‘bochur’ said: “He could feel the bullets whizzing by.”
(What if this fleeing shoplifter had a gun? More ‘whizzing bullets?’)
Folks..isn’t this a wonderful society (America & Canada)? We give you: Free public schooling, vouchers, hot lunches, inoculations, public parks, free adult education, etc….and FREE BURIAL! Choose your own FREE COFFIN!
Idiot government…heartless Xristian government…’pack of morons and fools!’
These failures cannot run a society.
Civilization NOW! ‘The 7 Noahide Laws’ NOW!
(I stepped into a local Crown Heights eatery. After telling a Jewish teenage employee, who was studying penal law, that I disseminate ‘The 7 Noahide Laws’ he commented: “Why do you want to be involved in that old-fashioned stuff?”)
      Chelm?
Is this a way to run a society (America & Canada)?
(This IS the way to make more work for the police…actually it’s rather
exciting…can’t wait till the next movie debut called: ‘Crime in the Streets’)
When will this psychotic government ‘come to its senses?’
