Breaking News: Bais Rivkah Will Not Open

BREAKING NEWS: Parents of students of Bais Rivkah schools have been called and notified that all children from Pre-1-A to High School will not begin school as scheduled, due to financial difficulties. Preschool classes are not affected ● Story Updated 9/2/2014 12:15pm ● Full Story

Today, Monday, one day before the school year was set to begin, parents of girls in the Bais Rivkah school system have been notified by the teachers and principals, that school will not begin as scheduled for all girls from Pre-1-A to 12th Grade. This does not affect the preschool and headstart divisions, which are (fully or partially) funded by the federal government, and will open as scheduled.

Upon further investigation, ChabadInfo.com has learned, that all teachers and principals of the school, from Pre-1-A to 12th Grade have not been paid since the winter, and therefore cannot come back to work until a payment schedule is worked out with them. This has caused a shortage of teachers, with 12 teachers leaving their posts in Bais Rivkah to work in other schools.

The school administration is working hard to find a solution to the problem, and parents are encouraged to pay up any tuition bills that are owed from the past, and to donate, to ensure the school reopen on time.

ChabadInfo.com will continue to follow this breaking story, and bring you updates as they become available.
