With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Reuvein Rapoport, OB”M, he passed away on Friday, 26 Adar. He was 87-years-old.
Rabbi Rapoport was born in Russia, moved to the United States with his family about 85 years ago. He was flown in to New York to be from the first students in Tomchei T’mimim of 770.
He later served as a Rov of a Shul in Brooklyn.
He is survived by his children Rabbi Yaakov Rapoport – Syracuse, NY; Rabbi Shmuel Dovid Rapoport – Atlantic County, NJ; Rabbi Yisroel Rapoport – Vineland, NJ; Boruch Rapoport – Crown Heights; Ella Adler – Kensington, NY; Chaya Sarah Richler – Montreal, Canada; and Rina Lieberman – Kensingson, NY.
He is also survived by his siblings Rabbi Dovid Rapoport – Mequon, WI; Sarah Schonbrun – Petach Tikvah, Israel; and Shoshana Stiskind – Petach Tikvah, Israel.
The levaya will take place today, Friday, leaving Shomrei Hadas in Boro Park around 2:00 pm and passing by 770 around 3:00 pm.
