With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Hillel Katzman, OB”M, a longtime member of the Crown Heights community. Rabbi Katzman passed away on Tuesday, 12 Adar II. He was 86-years-old.
Rabbi Katzman was born in Russia, and immigrated to Samarkand along with his brother, who both became orphans at a young age.
In 1952, Reb Hillel immigrated to the United States, where he got married and raised his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mattel (nee Silber), and children; Esti Katz – Crown Heights; Pessy Gansburg – S. Paulo, Brazil; Moishe Katzman – Crown Heights; Chani Edelkopf – Crown Heights; Dini Groner – Pomona, NY; Rivky Teichman – Crown Heights and Raizy Cohen – Lakewood, NJ.
The Levaya will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, leaving Shomrei Hadas at around 12:00pm and passing by 770 at around 1:00 pm.
