As ChabadInfo.com reported less than a month ago, a new Chabad house was established in the southern African country of Namibia by Shluchim Rabbi Yosef and Mushka Rahimi. As soon as they arrived, the young couple rented an elegant space for their new Chabad house. At a Chabad house in the Ghanaian capital Accra, Eric Adams spoke about turning the pain of slavery into purpose, a message that he said was “personified” by “the Grand Rebbe of Crown Heights.” Adams, the outgoing Brooklyn borough president who also represented parts of Crown Heights as a State senator, talked about the Rebbe spreading “the energy and spirit of Judaism” by encouraging followers to open Chabad centers around the globe like the one in Accra • Full Story, Photos, Video
Shortly after the conclusion of this years Kinus Hashluchim Haolami, another young couple moved out on Shlichus, this time to the Southeast African country of Namibia. In preparation for the festive month of Tishrei, Rabbi Moshe and Yocheved Raskin, Shluchim of the Rebbe MH”M in the city of Kampala, Uganda held a strictly kosher slaughter in which 1,300 kg of poultry was slaughtered to be used by the Jewish community in the near future. A bris milah was held today in the African country of Uganda for the first time in many years. The celebration was facilitated by local Shliach and Chief Rabbi Moshe Raskin, who moved to Uganda with his wife Yocheved a short four years ago.
