    A Yom Tov in the United Arab Emirates, on the occasion of the wedding day of Chabad Shliach Rabbi Levi Duchman with his Kallah Leah Hadad of Brussels. The wedding in question was crowned in the local media as “the biggest Jewish event in the history of the United Arab Emirates.”

    1,500 guests from all over the world flocked to Abu Dhabi from the wee hours of the night to attend the wedding of Rabbi Duchman, who has been living in the United Arab Emirates for eight years. Among the many guests who came to the wedding, Emirati royalty, Rabbonim, and senior figures stand out.

    Since his arrival in the UAE, Rabbi Duchman, the Chabad Shliach, has had the privilege of founding a series of Jewish institutions that serve the Jews of the Emirates. Today, the community in the Emirates is growing non-stop and is considered the fastest growing Jewish community in the contemporary Arab world. In the last two years, another 4 Chabad Shluchim have joined the activity Rabbi Duchman’s branch.

    “The wedding,” says one of the Chabad Shluchim in the Emirates, “which took place on Chai Elul – the birthday of, the founder of Chasidism Baal Shem Tov and the founder of Chabad the Alter Rebbe, illustrates the revolution that brought and brings the impressive growth of Jewish life throughout the Emirates and not least the impressive attitude of the local authorities to the community. This huge wedding is a salute to the Jewish and Chasidishe revolution brought about here by a messenger of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.”

    Rabbi Duchman, will continue his Shlichus even after his marriage, together with his wife. Since he arrived on the scene, as mentioned eight years ago, the Jewish community has enjoyed developing institutions, including active synagogues, midrash schools, educational institutions, kosher restaurants, and more. Along with all this, Rabbi Duchman carries out vocation activities with Jews of all ages, all this with a noteworthy cooperation from the UAE’s government.
