Last night during the weekly Geula U’Moshiach Shiur at the 770 Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim, which is a tradition that has occurred for over seven years, a group of individuals interrupted the event by throwing a bag filled with raw eggs and torn holy seforim onto the attendees. The Yeshiva has released a public statement condemning this act of vandalism and emphasizing that the perpetrators are not students of the institution.

Rabbi Shmully Avtzon, a teacher at the 770 Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim and Director of Sichos in English, was leading the Shiur, a traditional lecture on the subjects of Hakhel and Moshiach, when the disturbance occurred. Witnesses have described the incident as a coordinated effort by several individuals, two of whom arrived at the Yeshiva in a vehicle with their faces covered before entering the women’s section and carrying out the attack. They then fled the scene in their vehicle.

The Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim denounces the acts of vandalism and disrespect that took place during the Shiur and reaffirms its commitment to fostering a peaceful and inclusive community.
