    Chabad Chassidim worldwide are anxiously following the situation in Beis Chayeinu – 770, which was closed by the police after the destruction and rioting this past Monday.

    As you may remember a group of Porkei Ol, decided on their own that they were “expanding 770”, and a tunnel was dug from the nearby mikvah building, under the Ezras Noshim on Kingston Ave. The Gabbaim decided, at the advice of an engineer to fill the tunnel as well as the space under the Kingston Ezras Noshim with cement. When the trucks arrived. riots began, culminating in Porkei Ol breaking the southern wall below the Ezras Noshim and the closure of 770 by the NYPD.

    Already on Tuesday Morning, NYC inspectors arrived to inspect the damage, and engineers arrived to asses the repair of the damage.

    Yesterday (Wednesday), trucks of concrete and workers arrived and began to repair the damage, and at the same time, the city’s building department published the findings of its engineers, according to which there is no danger to the building, and once the repair is done the large Zal can be reopened. As of now, it is expected the Shul will be reopened before Shabbos.

    Chabadinfo has learned that the Badatz is in discussion with all parties involved, including the 770 Yeshiva and the Gabbaim on the right way to restore order and discipline to Beis Chayeinu. and in the coming days a series of important measures will be published on the subject.

    In addition, Chababdinfo has learned that the ten rioters who were arrested by the NYPD have been released without bail pending trial, which is set for 30 days. And now the possibility of issuing a restraining order for them is being examined, this in accordance with the instructions of the Rabbonim.
