770 to Remain Open for Rosh Hashana
Since Motzei Shabbos Slichos, many discussions have been taking place between the Rabbonim, doctors and Gabboim regarding if 770 can remain open for Tishrei • Full Story
In recent days, with a rise of Covid-19 cases in the Crown Heights community, which is worrying residents and doctors of a second wave, the Gabboim of 770 have published rules to maintain the safety of the Shul.
Since Motzei Shabbos Slichos, many discussions have been taking place between the Rabbonim, doctors and Gabboim regarding if 770 can remain open for Tishrei.
In a recording from a phone call between a community member and the Mara D’asra of Crown Heights, Harav Yosef Yeshaya Braun, Rabbi Braun said that in his opinion, 770 should be closed for the sfaety of all, but he is leaving the decision to Dr. Rosen and the Gedaliah Society.
ChabadInfo.com has been informed that as of now, the opinion of the doctors is that 770 should remain open since risks outweigh the benefits of it closing, for if 770 would close, all those that Daven there would be forced to Daven in smaller Shuls which can potentially bring infection to those smaller Shuls.
In a conversation with ChabadInfo.com, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Kratz, the Shamesh of 770 said that in addition to the measures brought in by the Gabboim, the Shul is working on arranging more space for distancing.
ChabadInfo.com will continue to monitor and report on the current situation.
