NEW JERSEY — A Jewish community center in Edison was evacuated due to a bomb threat, according to police, as first reported by News 12 in New Jersey.
The threat was reportedly phoned into the JCC of Middlesex County.
Robert Dudash, Edison’s Police Chief, said, “We’re treating it as a serious event.” Dudash said that the threat “seems consistent” with similar threats to other facilities recently.
According to the report, police officers wouldn’t even let people evacuated from the JCC go to their cars.
This frightening incident comes just days after the FBI issued a warning of a threat against shuls in New Jersey last week.
This is a developing story.
