At the Ballena Azul auditorium in Buenos Aires, Argentine President Javier Milei delivered the keynote address at a large event held in honor of Gimmel Tammuz, which was attended by thousands and led by the senior Shliach, Rabbi Zvi Greenblatt.
Famously, President Milei has been a friend to the Jewish community, especially Chabad Shluchim in the country, and considers himself a Chossid of the Rebbe. In 2024, he discreetly attended the local Gimmel Tammuz event with little fanfare.
During the evening, former hostage Yosef Chaim Ohana captivated the audience with his personal story, from the difficult experiences to the miracles to the light he saw at the end of the tunnel, in a live interview that took place above the auditorium stage and was conducted with great skill by the Rebbe’s Shliach in the city, Rabbi Chaim Oirchman.
At the end of the interview, Avi Ohana, the father of Yosef, stood up and moved the audience with a speech full of emunah and trust in Hashem and the brachos of the Rebbe who accompanied him the entire time.
As Chabadinfo reported at the time, Avi famously made a future Seudas Hoda’a in 770 for the future return of his son, who was then held in captivity in Gaza by Hamas. After two years in Hamas captivity, he was returned home in Kiryat Malakhi a few months ago.
