Ohana was warmly welcomed by residents of Kiryat Malakhi, alongside the city’s mayor, Lelo Zohar, who joined in greeting him. “I love you all. I just know that I’m coming home,” Ohana told reporters upon leaving Maccabiah Village. “My heart is with the 200,” he added, referencing the other hostages held by Hamas.
Ohana was kidnapped during the Simchas Torah terrorist attack at the Nova, where he had been assisting in evacuating the injured to paramedics and ambulances. During his captivity, he endured severe physical and psychological abuse, including intentional starvation and torture.
Six days after being returned to Israel, Ohana was discharged from Sheba Medical Center for rehabilitation, alongside fellow former hostages Ariel and David Conyo. Today’s celebrations in Kiryat Malakhi marked his long-awaited return.
