The Chabad community in Paris awoke to troubling news following a deliberate act of vandalism targeting one of its central educational institutions, which serves hundreds of girls from the local Jewish community.

According to reports, the attack took place over the weekend, when unidentified individuals arrived at the school complex and caused extensive damage. Three windows were shattered, a security camera monitoring the entrance was forcibly removed, and a memorial plaque affixed to the building’s exterior was torn down. The plaque was later recovered by police after being found discarded in a nearby public square.

Police forces were dispatched to the scene and collected evidence, while the Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed that a formal investigation has been launched on charges of serious property damage motivated by religious and antisemitic hatred.

Baruch Hashem, the perpetrators did not gain access to the classrooms, and the damage was limited to the exterior of the building and its security infrastructure.

Despite the attempt to intimidate the Jewish community, The Rebbe’s Shluchim and the institution’s administration emphasized that educational activities are continuing as normal. “In the face of darkness and hatred, we will respond by adding light—through Torah and proud Jewish education,” the administration stated. “While we trust the authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice, our true response is to strengthen and continue our mission.”

The incident sparked widespread reaction across France, with local officials and political figures visiting the site to express solidarity with the school’s staff, students, and the wider Jewish community.
