Palestinian Man Tries To Stab Troops In Samaria

DF soldiers thwarted a Palestinian stabbing attack on Monday afternoon at the Gitai Avisar Junction next to the Ariel settlement in the West Bank.
The attacker ran toward a hitchhiking post at the junction with a knife in his hands, the IDF said. A solider saw the man with the knife, shot and killed him. No soldiers or civilians were injured in the attack.
Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan noted that the attack occurred a short distance away from the Barkan Industrial Park, where a Palestinian worker shot to death two Israeli civilians last week.
An IDF manhunt continues for the Barkan terrorist.
“We will not accept these kinds of ‘trickle’ terror attacks,” Dagan said.
He called on the Israeli government to deal harshly with such attacks. According to Dagan, this should include retaliatory measures against the village where the terrorist lived.
Dagan thanked the soldiers for their vigilance, which he said prevented Israeli deaths.
“This is how such attacks should end, without casualties and with the death of the terrorist,” he added.
