Outrage After IDF Soldier Sentenced to 30 Days in Military Prison for “Moshiach” Patch
An IDF soldier from the Nachal Brigade was sentenced Wednesday to 30 days in military prison after wearing a “Moshiach” patch on his uniform during a visit by IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir in Yehuda and Shomron • Full Story
According to reports, the Chief of Staff noticed the patch while the soldier was stationed at a guard post and ordered disciplinary action. The platoon commander received a suspended 14-day sentence, the company commander was formally reprimanded, and the battalion commander received a command-level warning.
The soldiers had reportedly been briefed ahead of the Chief of Staff’s visit, but the IDF stated they “conducted themselves in a manner inconsistent with military expectations and discipline standards.”
Following the incident, brigade leadership held meetings with commanders stressing operational discipline and adherence to IDF regulations.
Lt. Gen. Zamir emphasized that “the IDF’s values and standards are an inseparable part of victory,” adding that “a disciplined army that upholds its norms is a victorious army.” Last month, Zamir reportedly presented senior officers with examples of what he described as irregular conduct in the field, including the use of unauthorized symbols, and referred to the “Moshiach” patch as “a rebellion against IDF values.”
MK Boaz Bismuth sharply criticized the decision, calling it “serious and outrageous,” and demanded the soldier’s immediate release.

Do they really want to start up with the Rebbuh?
If the ‘Chief of Staff’ has nothing more important to condemn or find fault with, it’s possibly no wonder the casualties of these young soldiers are in such frequency and number! Sorry what kind of Commander or leader is this. The President of the US has just asked Jews to keep Shabbos and he takes the opposite stance it seems! Wow, unbelievable!
