Nicaragua: Kosher Dairy Products Being Mainstreamed
Rabbi Dovid Atar, Shliach in the Central American country of Nicaragua took advantage of the extra pair of hands lent by visiting shochet Rabbi Eliyahu Ezagui, who as ChabadInfo.com previously reported conducted the first ever shechita in the country, to milk cows at a local dairy farm in order to produce Kosher dairy products • Full Story, Photos
ChabadInfo.com reported over the summer on the first shechita to take place in the Centeal American country of Nicaragua, where Rabbi Eliyahu Ezagui arrived to conduct it under the auspices of local Shliach Rabbi Dovid Atar.
Rabbi Atar took advantage of the extra help when the duo traveled to a nearby dairy farm to personally hand-milk some of the cows in order to provide local Jews with Kosher milk.
Rabbi Atar also hammered out a partnership with a local dairy producer to kasher their facility in order to produce milk products such as cheese, thus becoming the first step in mainstreaming Kosher dairy in the country.
