New York Mayor Eric Adams Withdraws from Upcoming Election
New York City Mayor Eric Adams, known as a friend of the Jewish people and a strong supporter of Israel, has decided to withdraw from the race for re-election • Read More
Reports indicate that Adams faced pressure to step aside in order to reduce the number of candidates and increase the chances of blocking the leading Democratic candidate, Zohran Mamdani, a Muslim Antisemite.
Adams’ withdrawal is expected to benefit former Governor Andrew Cuomo, who will run as an independent against Mamdani, who previously defeated him in the Democratic primaries earlier this year.
Mamdani, a socialist, is a vocal critic of Israel and has promised to arrest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if elected, despite having no authority to influence Israeli leadership.
