A new Jewish Russian community has been developing over the last 2 years in Willowdale, a neighborhood in the center of Toronto, just outside of the central Jewish hub of the City.
The JRCC of Willowdale and the City is manifesting the vision of the fast-paced, enthusiastic young couple, Yisroel Zaltzman and his wife, who grew up on Shlichus in Wimbeldon, London.
The Zaltzman’s know that a growing community like this needs a solid launching site, so they have wasted no time in creating a space for community members to connect to Yiddishkiet and to each other.
This new community certainly has much to celebrate, as their first major project is approaching completion! The renovation of the shul is coming together beautifully – befitting of the vibrant crowd that calls this ‘Mishkan Meat’ their spiritual Home (- see video below).
The new Chabad House has been lighting up Neshamos for more than two years. It’s time to wrap up the renovation, kick this shul into high gear, and take the programing and learning to the next level.

The JRCC of Willowdale has launched a campaign for $200,000 to cover the renovation costs (150,000) and to start various programs furthering education and awareness about Moshiach and Geulah in their communty!
