Hilchos kashrus are detailed, complex, and wide-ranging, covering not only the actual food we consume, but also how it is cooked and the kitchenware used in the process.
Since kashrus questions arise in every home on a frequent basis, learning Hilchos Kashrus in depth is practical and beneficial, as well as fulfilling the mitzvah of Torah study.
The new Hilchos Kashrus course at Lemaan Yilmedu is designed to focus on practical application. It covers the most important topics in the laws of kashrus in four main areas:
Basar Becholov (Meat and milk)
Maacholei Akkum (Foods prepared by non-Jews)
Hagolas Keilim (Kashering vessels)
Tevilas Keilim (Immersion of vessels)
The course is taught by Rabbi Yossi Barber, who has many years of experience teaching the laws of kashrus and is known for his clarity, his wide-ranging knowledge, and his ability to apply the laws to daily life.
Along with the weekly class, students will get booklets of summaries and diagrams that will help them understand the halachos, as well as booklets with the Shulchan Aruch with English translation.
