Following five years of fruitful Shlichus in Eilat and two years of intensive construction, Rabbi Assi Fishman and his wife this week inaugurated the new Chabad on Campus building in the city. Joining the dedication ceremony were the city’s Chief Rabbi and Shliach of the Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Hecht, along with Rabbi Moshe Shilat, director of Chabad for Israeli Youth.
The new facility, built in the successful model of Chabad on Campus centers worldwide, combines the Shluchim’s residence together with a vibrant activity hub. The building features a large hall for Tefillos and Seudos Shabbos, a fully equipped classroom, and additional modern amenities tailored to the needs of the student community.
The Fishman family of Shluchim serves three academic institutions in the city, including the local branch of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, along with two regional colleges attended by thousands of students.
The new building is expected to host hundreds of students weekly for shiurim, events, and Shabbos meals, serving as a warm and lively Beis Chabad for the growing student population, b’ezras Hashem.
