In a moving moment, Merav Amar shared incredible news: her son, Shmuel Amar—who was critically injured in the fire that tore through a Crown Heights bochurim apartment nearly two months ago—miraculously woke up on Yud Alef Nissan, The Rebbe’s birthday.
After weeks in critical condition, sedated and fighting for his life due to severe lung damage, Shmuel suddenly opened his eyes, became responsive, and was taken off sedation.
His father, Rabbi Zohar Amar, has spent every day at his son’s bedside praying. Just weeks ago, doctors warned the family to prepare for the worst. Now, with tears of gratitude, they are witnessing what they call a true miracle.
The fire, which broke out early one Friday morning, destroyed the building and injured seven bochurim—two of them seriously. Shmulik had cried out for help before collapsing in the smoke. His recovery, still in its early stages, has inspired hope across the community.
The Chabad community around the world continues to Daven for a complete Refuah Sheleimah for Chaim Shmuel ben Merav, hearts lifted with renewed faith and thankfulness.
