A permanent Tefillin stand was installed Tuesday at the entrance to Israel’s News 14 studios during a modest yet meaningful ceremony attended by the channel’s CEO Ariel Edri, senior hosts Boaz Golan and Shimon Riklin, along with reporters, producers, and editors.

The initiative was spearheaded by Chabad-affiliated media personalities and regular News 14 panelists Mendy and Shlomo Rizel, who secured the donation for the project.

Three pairs of Tefillin, including both Sephardic and Arizal sets, were placed at the station for the benefit of employees and visitors.

Also participating in the event was Rabbi Menachem Michalashvili, the Rebbe’s Shliach in Lod, who maintains an ongoing connection with the station’s staff throughout the year.

The first person to don the newly installed Tefillin was military correspondent Hillel Biton-Rosen, who offered prayers for IDF soldiers and Israel’s security forces.

Speaking on Boaz Golan’s program shortly before the ceremony, Mendy Rizel explained that the stand was dedicated in memory of their father, Yisrael Rizel A”H. He noted that the Rebbe launched the Mivtza Tefillin in 1967, emphasizing its importance for the protection of Jewish soldiers, citing the Pasuk, “And all the peoples of the earth shall see that the Name of Hashem is called upon you, and they shall fear you.”

Boaz Golan noted that while the station already has a Shul and a pair of Tefillin available for use, the channel’s management decided that the new sets would be placed permanently in the main lobby, making them easily accessible and visible to employees and guests alike.

“We are proud of our tradition and our Judaism, and we thank everyone involved in this initiative,” the station’s management said.

The Rizel brothers expressed appreciation to the channel’s leadership, the participants, and the donors who helped make the project possible, saying the goal is to give many more Jews the opportunity to put on Tefillin.
