The security situation remained tense on Monday after Iran launched multiple missile barrages toward Israel overnight and in the early morning hours, marking the most significant direct confrontation between the two countries since the ceasefire that took effect in April.

Sirens sounded across large parts of northern and central Israel, including the Galilee, Haifa region, Sharon area, Shomron, and the greater Tel Aviv area.

Air defense systems successfully intercepted most of the incoming threats, while one missile reportedly landed in an open area near the Jordan Valley and Shomron region. Several civilians sustained light injuries while rushing to protected areas, and scattered fires were reported from interceptor debris.

In response to the attacks, the Israeli Air Force launched a wave of strikes against military targets in western and central Iran. According to the IDF, the operation targeted military infrastructure and air-defense assets connected to the Iranian regime. Iranian media reported explosions in Tehran, Isfahan, Karaj, and other locations, while reports indicated that military facilities and drone-related infrastructure were among the targets.

Israeli defense officials stated that the strikes were carried out following Iran’s violation of the ceasefire and emphasized that operational plans had been prepared in advance. The military also indicated that additional target banks remain available should further action be required.

Meanwhile, the IDF has warned that the confrontation may not yet be over. Military officials said the security establishment remains prepared for several more days of fighting and possibly longer, depending on developments on the ground. The army remains on heightened alert across multiple fronts, including Iran, Lebanon, and Yemen, while maintaining close coordination with the United States. According to military assessments, Iran launched more than twenty ballistic missiles toward Israel during the latest escalation, while additional threats originated from the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen.

Amid the renewed fighting, U.S. President Donald Trump publicly called on both sides to de-escalate. “Israel and Iran must immediately stop shooting,” Trump wrote, while expressing hope that negotiations could resume.

Shortly afterward, both Israel and Iran signaled a temporary halt in direct attacks. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israeli operations against Iran are currently “on hold,” while warning that any future aggression would be met with force. Iranian officials likewise indicated that they were suspending further attacks for the time being, while threatening a harsh response to any renewed Israeli action.

While the immediate exchange appears to have subsided for now, security officials caution that the situation remains highly volatile and could change rapidly.

As millions of Israelis continue to live under the threat of missile attacks, we are deeply grateful to Hashem for the many open miracles witnessed over the past day, as the incoming missiles were intercepted or fell in open areas, sparing countless lives and preventing serious casualties. We continue to pray for the safety and protection of all our brethren in Eretz Yisroel, trusting in Hashem’s constant watch over His people. May we merit to see many more revealed miracles and open good, and may all threats and suffering come to an end with the coming of Moshiach, now!
