As part of a longstanding tradition, the incoming 24th IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, and the outgoing Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, visited the Kosel, this morning (Wednesday) for a prayer.
The prayer was attended by the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, and the IDF Chief Rabbi, Brig. Gen. Rabbi Eyal Karim.
The Chiefs of Staff recited Tehillim and prayed for the well-being of IDF soldiers and the security of Israel with a special prayer for the return of the hostages and missing persons.
At the conclusion of the joint prayer, both generals offered personal prayers and placed notes between the stones of the Kosel. At the end of their visit, they signed the guest book of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.
