At Chabad of BGC in the Philippines, under the direction of shliach Rabbi Yossi Marom, Lag BaOmer was celebrated for the sixth consecutive year with a vibrant and uplifting event. In honor of the holy tanna Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, the shluchim organized a parade with the participation of dozens of local Jewish families.
Each child received a drum and a balloon on which they wrote a personal request, and together they marched in a lively and spirited procession. Leading the parade was a specially outfitted vehicle displaying Jewish exhibits inspired by the Rebbe’s mivtzoim. At the conclusion of the parade, the children released their balloons into the sky as a symbol of their prayers and requests, united in asking for the Geulah.
The celebration continued with a Lag BaOmer bonfire and a festive barbecue, accompanied by an energetic drum performance by the children, adding to the atmosphere of joy and unity.
The following day, a special Farbrengen was held with young members of the local Jewish community, featuring words of Torah and meaningful Hachlatos taken in honor of Rashbi. The event left a lasting impression on the Jewish community in the BGC neighborhood.
