Earlier, IDF spokesperson Avichi Edri issued an Arabic-language warning to anyone in the Hodeidah port area, urging immediate evacuation due to a planned strike.
Under the heading “Urgent Warning to All Present in Hodeidah Port, Yemen,” Edri stated that the IDF would attack “in the coming hours” the area marked on a map, “in response to the military activities carried out there by the Houthi terrorist regime.”
He warned all individuals and ships in the area: “For your safety, we call on everyone present in Hodeidah port and all vessels docked there to evacuate immediately.”
He concluded: “Anyone remaining in the area endangers their life.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu monitored the strike from the Kirya headquarters and later held a situation assessment regarding potential expansion of military operations in Gaza.
“I am here in the command center at the Kirya with the Defense Minister, Deputy Chief of Staff, National Security Advisor, and senior IDF commanders. Our forces are operating on multiple fronts. Just minutes ago, our pilots struck Hodeidah port in Yemen—the main supply port for the Houthi terrorist regime,” Netanyahu said in a statement.
He added: “At the same time, our forces are active in the city of Gaza, aiming to achieve the enemy’s defeat while also facilitating civilian evacuation. We are working to open additional routes to allow for faster evacuation of Gaza residents, separating them from the terrorists we intend to target.”
