The hall was filled with a special sense of excitement as 200 outstanding participants in the Yissachar-Zevulun program, together with dozens of supporters known as the “Zevulunim,” gathered to mark the completion of the year’s learning program.
The event celebrated a year of dedication and consistency in Torah learning by the Temimim, alongside significant financial support from their partners, who developed personal connections with the learners and sought to enable them to devote their time to Torah study.
This year, the program achieved a significant milestone, with 450 Bochurim learning at 770 participating in a structured, comprehensive monthly learning program. The scholarships distributed throughout the year exceeded $800,000.
Rabbi Hillel Raskin, who served as MC, opened with remarks about the importance of investing in Torah learning. He shared that in preparation for the event, he had personally added time to his daily learning.
He then invited Rabbi Pinchas Tzvi Margaliyos, Menahel Ruchni of Igud Talmidei Hakvutza and director of the program, to recite the Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach’s kapitel.
The guest of honor, Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Carlebach, a Shliach of the Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach in New Jersey, expressed his amazement at the program’s scope and the impressive gathering.
“The only thing I’m asking is: Why wasn’t there something like this in my time?” he said emotionally.
He spoke about the special value of Torah learning within the framework of Shlichus and shared memorable stories from his own experiences in the field.
Rabbi Shalom Dov Gaisinsky, one of the Rabbanim on the Igud Talmidei Hakvutza team who devote themselves to guiding the Temimim, was then invited to address the gathering. Presented as an example of dedication to Torah learning under all circumstances, he conveyed the Yeshivah’s blessings to the outstanding learners and their supporters.
During the main course, the evening was accompanied by music performed by Hatomim Aharon Gurevitch on violin and Hatomim Yosef Yitzchak Ashkenazi on keyboard.
The highlight of the evening was the annual Siyum ceremony. Music stands bearing the names of the various learning tracks were arranged onstage, and five outstanding participants were invited to complete the material they had studied throughout the year:
Chaim Weitzendler — Geulah and Moshiach track
Shalom Dov Ber Kot — Chassidus track
Menachem Mendel Boni — Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim track
Menachem Mendel Avraham — Hilchos Shabbos track
Menachem Mendel Koenig — Girsa track
One after another, the Bochurim presented topics from their year’s learning. They expressed their gratitude to the generous supporters and the Igud team for creating a special program that enables them to remain consistent in their learning and continue advancing.
One of the participants then concluded the ceremony by reciting Kaddish and proclaiming “Yechi Adoneinu.”
The entire audience rose to its feet for an exuberant Chassidishe dance, expressing the joy and satisfaction of the year’s achievements, both on the part of the Temimim who invested themselves in learning and the supporters who made the program possible.
Rabbi Moshiach Elias, a member of the Igud Talmidei Hakvutza team and the program’s administration, was then invited to offer words of appreciation to the partners and supporters.
During his remarks, he held a special raffle for a coin of the Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach set in a diamond necklace, generously donated for the occasion. The fortunate winner came up to the stage and received the coin and necklace with great emotion.
At the formal conclusion of the event, the 200 outstanding participants received certificates of recognition and posed for group photographs with the Rabbanim and program partners.
The hall was then transformed into a Chassidishe Farbrengen, joined by the Yeshivah’s Rabbanim and the Temimim. Students of Kvutza 5787, who are beginning their participation in the learning program in these days, also joined the Farbrengen. The program continues to expand as it prepares for the coming year.
The Siyum highlighted the unique partnership between the learners and their supporters, and the power of the Yissachar-Zevulun program to deepen Torah learning, encourage consistency, and place Torah at the center of the lives of the Temimim in 770.
