Hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the joyous Hachnasas Sefer Torah together with the inauguration of the new Settlement of Emek Doron, located between Yakir and Revava in the Shomron.
The event was attended by Knesset members and public figures, including Shomron Regional Council head Yossi Dagan, as well as Shliach to Be’er Sheva Rabbi Yirmiyahu Kalifa, who came especially to strengthen the Nir Tzvi family, in whose father’s memory the new community was established.
The community was founded in memory of Doron Nir Tzvi, of blessed memory, a legal expert in land laws in Yehuda and Shomron, who was actively involved in redeeming land for Jewish settlement and was among the founders of the communities of Givat Harel and Chavat Yair. Doron passed away about a year ago after an illness, leaving behind his wife, children, and grandchildren who continue in his path.
