Aliya hosted a unique hands-on evening focused on the Halachos of Shechitah, giving participants the opportunity to see the process up close—from the preparation of the knife to Shechitah and the preparation of kosher meat.
The evening was led by Rabbi Eliyahu Ezagui, a trained Shochet currently living in Eretz Yisroel, who presented the Halachos and demonstrated the specialized knives used for Shechitah.
The participants then watched the Shechitah of a ram, turkey and chickens, before taking part in the preparation process, including salting and preparing the meat.
The evening concluded with the freshly prepared chicken and meat being barbecued and enjoyed together, bringing the Halachah L’Maaseh experience to a memorable close.
