According to the joint statement, the terrorist, Sabai Zaher Abd al-Hamid Abu Hasna, was a member of Hamas’ military wing and took part in the October 7 infiltration into Israeli territory.
During the war, he was involved in planting explosive devices and had recently been working to advance terrorist attacks against IDF forces operating in the area.
The IDF said Abu Hasna was killed in a precise strike carried out over the weekend in northern Gaza.
The military noted that steps were taken prior to the operation to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.
The strike also eliminated Ahmed Samir Muhammad Washah, a Hamas terrorist who, according to the IDF, simultaneously served as a ‘photojournalist’ for the Al Jazeera network while operating as a sniper in Hamas’ military wing.
In a separate operation in northern Gaza, Israeli forces eliminated three additional armed Hamas terrorists who were reportedly preparing attacks against IDF troops.
The military emphasized that IDF forces remain deployed in the area in accordance with the ceasefire arrangements and will continue to act against any immediate threats to Israeli troops and civilians.
