    For The Love Of Chassidim

Our Rabbeim Shlepped Chassidim out of the spiritual mud, to get them on the right track, just by thinking of their love to them • Full Article

A powerful letter from the Frierdiker Rebbe discussing the importance of the love between a Chosid to another Chosid and Chosid to his Rebbe.
Important: this is not a word for word translation.

In the winter of 5663, I [The Frierdiker Rebbe] was with my father, the Rebbe Rashab in the city of Viena.

One night, I was Zoiche to hear a long Sicha on the topic of “What Is Chassidishe Love”. From one Chasid to another, and from a Chasid to the Rebbe. How pure this love is in heaven and how precious it is down here.

My father, The Rebbe Rashab told me a story that he heard from his uncle Reb Chaim Shneor Zalman from Liadi:
…The Tzemach Tzedek said, the love of the Chassidim and their Brochos to the Rebbe, breaks the heavens.
Moishe Eliya’s (was an average Chasid in understanding and Avoda, but a tremendous Mekushar) said, אהבה’דיקער הרחמן אין בענטשן עושה פרי טוב למעלה ובא בפועל טוב למטה. The love Harachaman we say in Bentching [for the Rebbe] makes good effects in the heavens and down here…

Ahava – Love, is the life behind the Avoda of Chassidus.
Ahava – Love, is the thread that connects Chassidim with each other.
Ahava – Love is the thread that connects the Rebbe with Chassidim and Chassidim with the Rebbe.

Ahava does not have any boundaries. It is not limited in the limitation of place and time:

It says in the Posuk אהבתי אתכם אמר ה, Hashem loves the Yidden.
G-Dliness is not limited to time and space, yet Hashem loves every Yid. Although we are in physical bodies with a Yetzer Hara, and we are in a world that is limited to time and space, nevertheless, Hashem still loves us, and we love Hashem.

We see this very clearly: A loved one, even if you are very distant from each other in space, there is nothing stopping your connection, both of you are not alone, because love does not have any limitations.

When you think of the loved one (even from a distance) it gives them a boost of energy:

Our Rabbeim Shlepped Chassidim out of the spiritual mud, to get them on the right track, just by thinking of their love to them. So much so, did the love look – אהבה קוק affect them, that not just to stay away from bad, to get out of the mud, but also gave them energy to do the right thing in Avoda.

We see this clearly, when one steers at someone, even if he does not know he’s being stared at, he will feel an urge to look back. Because an inter stare awakens the essence of the soul – Etzem Hanefesh.
So too, if one thinks deeply about his love to a loved one, it awakens their inner soul. Even if they are physically very distant, they are not alone. more than that, they are receiving energy to carry-on…
