‘Kollel Torah’ Gala Dinner Celebrates The Soldiers of Torah

Last night there was a special event held Rishon Letzion, for friends and students of the organization ‘Kollel Torah’ led by Rabbi Bentzi Lipsker of Petersburg, Russia. He joined forces with Rabbi Moshe Weber.
Kollel Torah is a dramatic initiative to disseminate Torah, brings advanced study to 24 countries in the Former Soviet Union and Europe. In 108 distinct cities, men meet daily for the study of Talmud, Jewish law, and Chasidic texts. While women convene weekly for intensive learning. As in the traditional kollel system, each participant receives a stipend and is expected to pass a test to ensure comprehension.
The event was organized to gather the Kollel members–the soldiers of Torah–countries in the Former Soviet Union and Europe, .
The first part of the event was dedicated to a reception for the three abductees – Yelena Trufanova, Irena Tati and Sapir Cohen, who were released from Hamas captivity 30 days ago.
Irena Tati is a student of the ‘Chachmas Noshim’ organization of the Rostov Kollel, and immigrated to Eretz Yisroel about two years ago. Sapir Cohen moved the audience with the story of her heroism in the captivity of Hamas, the message and hope to be proud Jews in any situation, and the prayer for the release of the hostages and her future husband.
The event covered activity including the extensive Torah, the plans for the future of Kolle Torah, and a multi-dimensional scope of the activities that unites 24 countries, 108 cities and thousands of students.
The event was graced by Rabbi Nissim Elmaliach of Chabad of Ben Gurion Airport, public figures, fund managers and friends of the orginization, who worked tirelessly for the success of the activity in the coming year.
The culinary part was entrusted to Rabbi Yehiel Pruss, that produced the event together with Rabbi Mandy Volosow and Rabbi David Whitman.
