On December 7th, one of the major Jewish holidays, Chanukah, began. A key tradition of this celebration is the lighting of the menorah, to be done each evening for all eight days of Chanukah.

Traditionally, the festive Chanukah was installed and lit in the Jewish communities of Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Uzhhorod, Mykolaiv, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Bila Tserkva, Kropyvnytskyi, Berdychiv, Kamianske, and photos from the celebrations were shared.

In various cities of Ukraine, members of Jewish communities gathered to participate in Chanukah celebrations, responding with ‘Amen’ to blessings and experiencing the incredible atmosphere of light and joy. Families with children of all ages, from infants to shy teenagers, along with their grandparents, celebrated the miracle that occurred over 3000 years ago.

Rabbis in the cities lit Chanukah candles on the menorah, joined by invited dignitaries. Festive events and concerts were also held.

May the light and warmth of Chanukah, multiplied, continue to illuminate your homes, hearts, and souls even more strongly! Wishing you a happy and joyful Chanukah!
