During his visit, Alfasi explored the empty Shul of the Matzmiach Yeshuah Jewish community in Yangon, once a hub of Jewish life, now standing as a quiet remnant of the past. He also met with the last remaining Jews in the country, who continue to uphold their traditions despite the challenges.
Alfasi’s journey concluded with a visit to Myanmar’s only Jewish cemetery, a testament to the once-thriving Jewish presence in the region. His documentation sheds light on the resilience of the local Jewish community and the lasting impact of Jewish heritage in even the most remote corners of the world.
